After months of waiting, finally this morning Ferrari surprised everyone expected to formally introduce the Ferrari 458 Challenge at the Bologna Motor Show.
Based on 458 Italy, this sports car aims to compete in the Trofeo Pirelli 2011. Obviously, being a career model, this car has great differences with the model that is based.

The 458 Challenge keeps the 4.5-liter V8 engine and 570 horsepower that the 458 Italy, but the changes made by the mechanics, including a new dual transmission possible to increase the torque.
To increase speed, the engineers also eliminated all unnecessary weight, through the use of carbon fiber inside and outside the car.
Thanks to all these changes, the Ferrari 458 Challenge was two seconds faster than the previous model in the Fiorano test.
