Peugeot 908 Hybrid

It seems that the future looks automotive hybrid and electric vehicles, so this situation is also encroaching on the race track, where more and more brands are betting on these prototypes.

The latest brand launch in the manufacture of hybrid vehicles has been competition Peugeot introduced a hybrid version of the 908 in order to participate in this category in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The nuvo Peugeot 908 Hybrid has an energy recovery system from braking, which results in increased power to 80 hp at times. However, the delivery of this power is done automatically at times of acceleration, not necessary that the pilot manually activate the system as with KERS in Formula 1.

The additional 80 hp of this hybrid system in addition to the 550 HDi engine original V8, leaving the maximum power of the Peugeot 908 Hybrid at 630 hp. The energy that is able to accumulate in the lithium-ion batteries is 500 kJ, to be subsequently transferred to the rear, also the Peugeot 908 Hybrid can get by on pure electric mode.
