Honda FC Sport

The concept sports car running on hydrogen shows the direction in the future, according to Honda.

The prototype of the Honda FC Sport concept vehicle sports three-seater, powered by hydrogen, focuses on the design flexibility and potential of the technology of fuel cells to Honda V Flow – which has already Honda FCX Clarity sedan – reconfigured into a light sports car. It is characterized by its center of gravity ultra-low, the powerful performance of its electric motor and zero emissions. The prototype is based levels of performance “supercar” with its light weight and electric drive train powered by a fuel cell.

Powertrain Fuel Cell Honda and bodywork in the tapered line and promote the potential aerodynamic performance vehicle. A modular housing for the fuel cell and electric transmission contribute to the low center of gravity of the FC Sport, most of the vehicle weight is distributed between the axles, creating a balanced distribution that is sought in cars Sports.

The location of the module in the fuel cell and its components shows the advantages of the powertrain operates with a hydrogen fuel cell on a specific platform. The FC Sport is specially configured to accommodate a module of fuel cell to measure, between the rear seats and a battery module placed at the bottom center of the vehicle. The electric motor is located just outside the rear axle. The two tanks, visible from above, are located above the rear axle.

Localization of components of the fuel cell optimizes performance and can offer a relatively spacious cabin for passengers compared to standard “supercar” usual, with enough room for three seats.
