Hyundai i10 and Genesis, before end of year

Before the end of the year, Argentina Hyundai plans to have a new flagship and expand its offerings in the segment boy launches Genesis Coupe (pictured above) and i10 (pictured below).

The local importer, who last month launched a sale for the new Veracruz SUV segment increased, it proposed a target to reach 2010 with a renewed offer of products, just in time for the World Cup in South Africa, where he will have large public display as an official sponsor.

The icing on the cake is the new generation Tucson, which should occur in our country just before the opening match (always betting that classifies Argentina, but not without suffering, it is clear). But let us not anticipate.

The first of these launches will be the Genesis Coupe, which will replace the current Coupe FX. Beyond its spectacular design (the concept on which it is based was built by Metalcrafters, Argentina Gaffoglio family), the main novelty of the Genesis Coupe is the adoption of rear drive.

Coming from South Korea, is likely to be offered with only two engines that are available to everyone: 2.0-liter four-cylinder 210 hp turbo and 3.8-liter V6 with 306 horses. By price and performance, its direct rival should be the new Nissan 370 Z, which will also be launched later this year.

In Argentina Hyundai discounted the possibility of importing the new Genesis sedan, from the moment that some Asian brands would not be achieving the expected sales in the premium saloon segment, where competition with German firms always very difficult in our country.

With respect to small i10, the idea is to complete the plans for approval as soon as possible to launch it before the arrival of summer. Manufactured in India, will be offered with one mechanical option, although not yet defined what: 1.1 naftera of 65 hp or 1.2 hp naftera 75.

The i10 will be positioned in price between Atos (from 12,400) and i30 (from 25,400). Thus, the supply of Hyundai in our country would be with a gap reserved for i20, which has long been said that could be manufactured at a new plant in Brazil. However, it is estimated that this will not happen before 2013.
