New Porsche 918 RSR, a hybrid of 767 hp. presented at Detroit

Porsche has presented a new and surprising Detroit unprecedented vehicle, the new hybrid Porsche 918 RSR. The RSR 918 is a competition model developed from the previous prototype, the Porsche 918 Spyder, with which it shares many aesthetic features and the approach of hybrid drive train. With respect to the previous prototype, the main novelty is the adoption of a closed coupe body for the RMW, leaving behind the Spyder version with the concept that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show 2010.

As head of his movement, the 918 RSR has a hybrid system consisting of a gasoline engine and two electric motors located on each front wheel. The combustion engine is a 3.4-liter V8 that comes to developing a maximum power of 563CV at a rate of 10,300 rounds, while the two electric motors get to develop an extra-102CV 204CV each. Thus, the combined capacity is fixed at 767CV, power over which should be completed that will not be available 100% of the time.

The two electric motors reverse their wheels under braking operation, generating electricity that is stored in a tank mechanic. When the driver requires it available via a button in the cockpit, go electric motors to assist the combustion engine, can work continuously for up to 8 seconds, time it takes all the available energy used in the battery- . From there, we should expect to accumulate more energy.
