2011 Electric Cars

This year will mark a turning point around the world of automobiles, especially everything related to mobility, it will be the prelude to the launch of a broad platform of electric cars, which has been set by many companies for the year 2012, and surely we will have some important advances in mid-year on these new models.

But not all companies will seek to focus on next year, but have decided to directly introduce some cars that will be available at this time, perhaps as an introduction or to take hold in the face to the next year, especially considering that the financial crisis fails detached from many industries.

In a purely subjective selection, here are the cars that, for now, are emerging to be the best electric car in 2011:

Nissan Leaf

One of the latest developments in the year 2010, which has worked in recent months to refine the details of its electrical components, for which there was a heavy investment in production plant Sunderland (England) where he will be hired as personal progressive up to the number close to 2,300 employees, and the basis of European dealers supply the firm,

It is also produced in Japan (Nippon Oppama plant) and there are plans to start mass producing in the United States this year, which together give the unique feature of being the first 100% electric car for mass production .

As for the qualities of the model itself, has the "classic" batteries lithium ion , which have been updated up to a maximum range of at least 150 miles on a full charge, and provide the electricity to run its electric motor and an output equivalent to 107 hp, which has a top speed of 140 kilometers per hour.

As if this were not enough, also was named Car of the Year 2011 for Europe, and is the first electric car to receive this award.

Tata Nano EV
The electric car of the Indian firm Tata Motors and variation of one of the most economical cars in the world did not take long, and was unveiled honoring the firm, promising a low cost, high maneuverability and, as if this were not enough nothing to envy to its competitors.

Like Leaf, has a range of 150 miles when fully charged, it only achieved with a lithium polymer battery, a small variation on lithium-ion batteries that can deliver the same energy to a higher density (ie, occupy less space, which favors its use as a compact car like the Tata Nano )

It has a small electric motor that provides power equal to 54 hp and a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour, not bad for being the cheapest electric car.

And the price just for the moment is a mystery, as well as its release date (originally scheduled for 2012, but according to a Tata Group in Spain would be brought forward), but is not expected to be costly, since the cost of Tata Nano is about 4,000 euros, respectively.

SLS AMG Mercedes Benz E-Cell

One of the first performances of the year and is already on everyone's lips, as it has been revealed a few hours ago in Detroit , the expected event where a lot of manufacturers come to show its new face to the market 2011 cars.

This is nothing more and nothing less than a variant of the supercar SLS-AMG Mercedes Benz E-Cell to equip a set of electric motors (hence its name) fitted on each wheel, which together allow you to achieve power equal to 525 CV, together with acceleration from 0 to 100 in 3.7 seconds.

Each of these motors are powered by lithium-ion batteries that are combined with a recovery of braking energy, which significantly extends the battery life (which, like its loading time have not been released yet)

It will be one of the cars that will be coming later this year for sure, but their presentation can not be overlooked, no doubt, as it emerges as one of the best power in 2011.
