New Audi R18

 

Two years passed since the introduction of the Audi R15 and R15 +. Now Audi has brought a new change in its draft competition presenting their latest creation, the Audi R18. An interesting model, destined to make history in the 24 Hours of Le Mans hand in hand with the Peugeot 90X.

If we were only a superficial analysis, that is only considering aesthetic issues, the Audi R18 and presents profound changes with respects to their ancestors, or variants R15, R10 and R8. For example, we must bear in mind that this is not a coupe and roadster version.

To find an Audi model of competition with these characteristics is necessary to go back to 1999 when the first attempt at Le Mans the Audi brand presented the R8C. However, these variants of the Audi R18 aesthetic make a direct connection with other changes at the mechanic.

Thus, the Audi R18 has a V6 3.7-liter TDI, which still do not know further details. The debut of the new model would materialize in April 2011 in the 1000 km of Spa. The real goal, meanwhile, will be 24 hours of Le Mans in June and the new Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
