A new study reveals that electric cars have a poor market share by 2020

You know that if by surveys and studies, the Americans, no one will win. But it seems a bit strange that 10 years into the future, electric cars could not definitively integrated into people’s taste. That is precisely what reveals a new market study by a U.S. agency: the participation of the electric car by 2020, at least in the U.S., would be lower than many think, from 2 to 5%.

We’re almost to advance figures are not even remotely close to what he talked in recent years and the causes are lack of public confidence in electric car technology. For example, poor self-lithium batteries, lack of infrastructure, the cost of a new battery pack and charging costs. In short, the same old problems that still is not resolved.

The study also revealed certain tastes in brands. 17% of the public said it would buy Toyota electric car, while 15% said they would do with Honda. The image with these two brands by the Prius and the Inside, tipped the balance, leaving other brands pretty far with much less than 10% of purchase intent.

All these data are applied to the U.S., where one had always thought the electric car is about to invade it. It would be interesting to see the same data, but in Europe and Japan to have an overview as to whether the electric car will be completely successful or if cars are only a very small segment.
